Interested in becoming a Red Cross disaster mental health provider volunteer? This course is the first step in getting approved to volunteer with the Red Cross in the wake of a disaster. Careers Your Students Need to Know About
Sunday, June 30, 1–4 p.m., 0.3 CEUs/3 Contact Hours
Help your students learn about some exciting career opportunities they may not have previously considered. Representatives from a number of industries gather to share information about their fields in this rapid-fire session. Free to all registered conference attendees. Advance registration isn't required, and you're free to drop in at any time over the course of the session. However, to earn the CEUs, you must attend the session in its entirety.
Special Olympics Project UNIFY: Empowering Youth of All Abilities
Sunday, June 30, 1–4 p.m., 0.3 CEUs/3 Contact Hours
People with intellectual disabilities are part of most schools but are often ignored and left out. Join us and discover the resources available through Special Olympics Project UNIFY that address this issue and can be used as part of a school's bully prevention efforts and school counseling program to improve school climate and culture. Learn more about the service-learning-based lessons, online interactive games, campaigns, clubs and whole-school activities for after-school programs, leadership classes, recess or P.E. classes. Free materials will be distributed. There is no additional fee, but you must register in advance.
RAMP Intensive Application Review
Sunday, June 30
The next round of Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) applications are due in October 2013. If you've already started working on your application and are looking for feedback on how it looks so far, register for a two-hour appointment with a RAMP reviewer to present your application in its current state and get on-the-spot feedback.
