National School Counseling Week 2010, "Celebrate School Counseling,"  will be celebrated from Feb. 1-5, 2010, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

Congress Passes National School Counseling Week Resolutions: Both the House and Senate passed resolutions declaring Feb. 1-5, 2010, as National School Counseling Week to honor the important role school counselors play in students' lives. Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.) and Rep. Vernon Ehlers (R-Mich.) introduced the resolution on the House side, and on the Senate side, S. Res. 381 was introduced by Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Sen.
