Bullying and What to Do About It

Workshop Description

This workshop helps counselors, teachers and principals understand the complexities of bullying. Who are the bullies and the victims? What impact does this have on those bullied and those who bully? What works in bully prevention? Examine to what extent bullying takes place in your school and/or classroom. Learn to create a safe environment and train your students in how to be “bully-proof.” (The full-day version spends additional time examining activities that create a bully-proof student and classroom, as well as developing schoolwide implementation plans.

• Identify potential victims and bullies at your facility.
• Focus on several concrete actions to create a safe environment for your students.

Presenter

Paul Herr, NCC, is a practicing school counselor and a qualified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. He is currently a senior facilitator and trainer at Clemson University’s Tem Venture program and has been a guest lecturer at Clemson University’s special education department. Herr has been involved in experiential education and training since 1993 and has worked on several ropes/challenges courses and on each course has earned the highest level for facilitators.

Schedule: Half-day training: 0.3 CEUs available for participants OR full-day training; 0.6 CEUs available for participants.

Cost: $1,500 for half day, $2,500 for full day
