Workshop Description Educators need to have confidence that school programs are reaching specified goals and are positively supporting the educational process. Counselors share in that responsibility. Evidence is needed to show that schools are accountable not only to themselves but to their constituents. Accountability is shown through the process of evaluation. Many school personnel are intimidated by the evaluation process because they believe it requires skills beyond their understanding and training. This workshop will help educators understand that good evaluation can be performed with no more than sixth-grade math and the use of a simple nine-step process.
Learning Objectives • Discover how to design and conduct your own program evaluation. • Acquire skills needed to perform basic evaluation. • Increase your knowledge of processes involved in program evaluation. • Learn to follow a nine-step process to conduct a credible evaluation. • Gain a level of confidence needed to undertake a program evaluation or begin to design an evaluation.
