School Counselor of the Year Award

The School Counselor of the Year program, presented by Naviance and ASCA, honors the best of the best -- school counselors who are running a top-notch, comprehensive school counseling program at either the elementary, middle or high school level. This newly enhanced program brings up to 10 finalists and their nominators to Washington, D.C., in late January, where they participate in a congressional briefing, meet with their members of Congress and are honored at the School Counselor of the Year Gala. From these 10 finalists, one school counselor of the year is selected.

Nominees must be ASCA members, practicing school counselors with at least five year's experience and currently work in a U.S.-based school.

Nominations for the 2010 awards are now closed. Save the date for the 2010 School Counselor of the Year Gala, on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, in Washington, D.C.

For information about program sponsorship, contact Amanda Fitzgerald.
