Congress Passes National School Counseling Week Resolutions: Both the House and Senate passed resolutions declaring Feb. 1-5, 2010, as National School Counseling Week to honor the important role school counselors play in students' lives. Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.) and Rep.Vern Ehlers (R-Mich.) introduced the resolution on the House side, and on the Senate side, S. Res 381 was introduced by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Sen. ESSCP Grant Applications Due Feb. 26: The Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools has released the fiscal year 2010 Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Program (ESSCP) grant application. Estimated range for awards is $250,000-$400,000. Download the application packet or learn more.
