Greetings LSSSCA Members!

We are super excited about the direction of the Lone Star State School Counselor Association (LSSSCA). As a young organization, LSSSCA has exceeded our membership goal for this year by 500 members. We are over 1,700 members strong! There is much work to accomplish to support school counselors around the great state of Texas and we plan to get more members connected to get the work done.

Your annual LSSSCA membership provides you with access to our LSSSCA members-only website pages. When you log in, you will have access to your personal member profile, which you can update at any time. This is where you would go to print your LSSSCA membership card. You must use your login to access the members-only resources. Once logged in, click on Resource Center. This will lead you to a plethora of school counseling resources such great information concerning current events; resource websites with academic, social/emotional, college and career resources; access to free books, guidance lessons, some presentation materials from the 2017 Fall Conference and much more. Please check out these valuable tools as you start designing and customizing your own dynamic school counseling program for the success of all your students.

As you are aware, LSSSCA is a proud charter member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) for the state of Texas. ASCA recently requested that LSSSCA members sign up for their mailing list so ASCA can send publications and other materials directly to you.

We encourage you to become familiar with the LSSSCA website – it provides information about our mission, vision, LSSSCA board, Lone Star State Awards, advocacy, shopping for ASCA books and access to previous LSSSCA publications.

Are you missing out on connecting with us on social media? This is another way to stay connected and be in the know with LSSSCA. We have social media accounts with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We are quite active on Twitter @LSSSCA1 and we would love for you to follow us. We are connected to many organizations and we often tweet out relevant information for school counselors. We also enjoy retweeting great things our school counselors are doing at their schools. Get connected and tweet about your program to share with others. Give it a try…we just may retweet your tweet!

The LSSSCA board is working continuously to improve our level of service to our members. We update our website frequently and encourage members to visit often and connect with us on social media. Dr. Courtney Jackson serves as the LSSSCA Director of Membership and is responsible for sending out information to the LSSSCA membership. She currently works in Richardson ISD as the Director of Guidance and Counseling. Tiffany Rhodriquez serves as the LSSSCA Director of Technology and Communication and is responsible for maintaining the website and social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram). She currently works in Conroe ISD as a high school lead counselor
