Camp Draws 350 for School Counselor Learning

By Judith Hughey | August 2018

The fifth annual KSU/KSCA School Counseling Camp, “Building the Future in the Little Apple,” was held May 29-30. The camp was attended by 350 school counselors, administrators, counselor educators and counseling students primarily from Kansas, and with guests from Oklahoma, Missouri and Colorado.

Keynote presenters included Erin Merryn of Erin’s Law, Dr. Rich Feller of You Science, Dr. Randy Watson of KSDE and Jill Cook of ASCA. We collaborated with the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) to plan and conduct the camp.

KSCA was proud to recognize Teryl Goeckel as School Counselor of the Year and presented the Promise Award to Kim Reimer and the Hall of Fame Award to Lynda Scrivner. Congratulations to all these outstanding school counselors.

The 2019 School Counseling Camp will take place May 28-29. Mark your calendar now and plan to attend!
