Save the Date for a Revolution

ISCA is proud to present our Annual School Counselor Conference, “School Counselors: Be the Revolution.” This event will be held upstate and downstate to reach and be easily accessible to all school counselors in the state of Illinois.

April 4, 2019: Stephens Conference Center, Rosemont
April 12, 2019: Doubletree Hilton, Bloomington

Please save the date and be on the lookout for early access to registration and enrollment. We look forward to seeing you there!

Julia Taylor to Visit ISCA This Fall

ISCA is proud to announce that we will be hosting Julia Taylor, Ph.D., this fall. Taylor is an assistant professor of Counselor Education at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. She is a former middle and high school counselor who has focused the majority of her research on body image, media literacy, relational aggression and girls’ leadership development. She has authored many great books and will be coming to Illinois to present on relational aggression among female students. Be on the look-out for date information (late November/early December) and registration. This event will sell out and we look forward to seeing you there. Learn more about Julia Taylor

Scholarship Success

ISCA is proud to recognize and celebrate our first annual scholarship that was awarded last spring at our upstate and downstate conference. Applicants were asked to share how their school counselor has made an impact in their life. More than 720 applicants applied – in the very first year – and the scholarship committee enjoyed reading about how much of an impact school counselors statewide have on students’ lives. We look forward to offering another scholarship opportunity this upcoming year.
Scholarship recipients included:
Olivia Mellenthin of Bunker Hill High School; Theresa Dissen, counselor
Kaili Ogden of St. Charles North High School; Amy Collins, counselor
