ALSCA Year of Service

By ALCSA | December 2019

For 2020, ALSCA is focusing on service to our students, schools, families and communities. As an organization, we are all going to participate in some type of service over the next four months and report our experiences to ALSCA – then we can collectively report how school counselors are helping our communities. During each of the following timeframes, we encourage each of you to lead some type of service activity with other school counselors and educators. It doesn’t matter what service we choose, but we want to have ALSCA school counselors help others over the next four months. During National School Counseling Week in February, we ask that you do something for a school counselor or school counselors.
  • January 20-24, 2019 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service (Jan. 20)
  • February 3-7, 2019 – National School Counseling Week
  • March – Human Trafficking
  • April 19-25, 2019 – National Volunteer Week
When you complete a service activity, please click on this link to report the results. We will send out an email to remind you about the ALSCA Year of Service. We are looking forward to seeing all the service activities lead by Alabama school counselors and we will be reporting our results.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of this statewide initiative! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our ALSCA president at lawandaedwards@hotmail.com
