Serve VSCA and Grow

It is an exciting time to be a school counselor in Virginia. Our recent legislative efforts have increased funding to reduce ratios, improved time devoted to direct counseling services and eradicated the term "guidance counselor" to reflect our current roles and functions as licensed school counselors. Furthermore, our state conference continues to grow, we have an exceptional partnership with the Virginia Department of Education and we believe we serve the best school counselors in the country.

Let's keep this momentum going. In July, we will add three new people to our board of directors. We hope you are one of them. Please consider running for a VSCA Board position to support, grow, and advocate for our profession, students, and schools. Be on the lookout for information and nominations to open later this month.
