Congratulations to Moutainview Elementary School Counselor, Mike Ryan! Ryan (in L photo, below) was recognized at the 2020 School Counselor of the Year Gala held in Washington, D.C., for being named the 2018 West Virginia School Counselor of the Year.

Keynote on Healthcare

On January 31, WVSCA President Matt Tolliver (in R photo) delivered the keynote address at a reception hosted by West Virginians for Affordable Healthcare. Presented at the West Virginia Culture Center and State Museum, Matt spoke to nearly 200 social workers, social work students and other stakeholders invested in the healthcare of West Virginia’s children. Tolliver discussed the role of school counselors according to the ASCA National Model, and the importance of collaboration among disciplines.
