As fellow advocates for student well-being, we deeply appreciate the dedication and passion you bring to your work each day. Recognizing the vital role that school counselors play in shaping the lives of students, CASC is committed to supporting you in your professional growth and endeavors; as such, this issue’s theme is “Partner for Professional Growth” and features stories addressing school counselor peer supervision, collaborative learning, and partnering with your principal.
As part of our ongoing efforts to champion the school counseling profession, we highlight an upcoming event of significant importance: Student Mental Health Awareness Week in California, May 6-10, 2024. Now, more than ever, prioritizing mental health awareness and support among students is crucial, especially considering the challenges they may face in today's ever-changing world.
Student Mental Health Awareness Week serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of destigmatizing mental health issues and fostering a culture of openness and support within school communities. It presents a unique opportunity for us to come together as advocates for mental health and to amplify our efforts in promoting awareness, understanding and access to resources for students in need.
CASC is fully committed to supporting you in your efforts to promote Student Mental Health Awareness Week on your school campuses. We understand the significance of this event and the positive impact it can have on the lives of students. To assist you, we offer a range of resources and support mechanisms to empower you in your role as a school counselor.
