President's Letter: Come Together Right Now

By Tara Cariano | October 2020

As I write this message, we are days away from the election, but as you read this, the election has already taken place. As a nation, we are experiencing all emotions. It is a trying time in which it is more important than ever for us to come together. For this reason, VTSCA has put together our first of three mini-conferences, with the first carrying the theme of “Come Together.”

On November 11, school counselors from around the state will gather virtually to connect, collaborate and celebrate school counselors. We are excited to offer this opportunity FREE to members and at a low cost of $45 for non-members (which includes a year membership to VTSCA!) This three-hour session will include
  • updates and celebrations from VTSCA, including recognition of our 2020 award winners and announcing our 2021 award nomination process
  • a fantastic and energetic keynote speaker, Brian Coleman, the 2019 National School Counselor of the year
  • regional breakout groups that will focus on racial equity and the needs of our communities
We are excited to provide you with this opportunity, and we hope you can join us! Please visit the VTSCA website for more information and to register. In addition to the November session, we will also be offering conference sessions in February and April. More information about the future sessions will be forthcoming. We look forward to seeing you soon!
