The 50th annualNC School Counselor Association Conference is coming up November 8-10 at the beautiful Sheraton Hotel and Koury Convention Center in Greensboro! With summer breaks coming to an end, and school starting back up, this is a quick reminder of the need for quality professional development to make sure we are all on top of our game to serve our students.
The NCSCA conference is designed to support school counselors in their efforts to implement best practices and proven strategies. Plan to enjoy a great conference that offers sessions covering all major content areas of school counseling!
Four excellent preconference sessions are planned for Wednesday afternoon. They are offered for a small, additional fee. The preconference sessions will be followed by the preconference keynote (open to all attendees at the conference), at which Dan St. Romain from San Antonio, Tex., will be our featured speaker. You don’t want to miss Dan, so make sure you make arrive by Wednesday afternoon!
On Thursday, we will begin the day with an exciting opening session featuring Tara Brown, a great lunch, a full day of tremendous breakout sessions and an evening reception.
We start off Friday morning with self-care sessions (Zumba, fun run/walk), followed by five excellent Core Skills Building Workshops, each offered twice this year:
Guarding Kids Against High-Tech Trouble – Dr. Russell Sabella
Self-Care for Counselors – Ginger Robinson Bennett
Teaching Growth Mindset in Schools: Mindset Matters – Lisa King Coleman
Technology Toolbox for School Counselors – Andrea Burston

We expect more than 50 exhibitors who are excited to meet you. They have programs and resources to assist North Carolina school counselors and administrators in serving their students and stakeholders.
If you need a hotel room, please see the “Accommodations” section at the bottom of the conference webpage and follow the link to the reservation system the Sheraton has setup for our block, and the wonderfully low rate of just $138 per night (plus taxes).
Connect, Grow, Serve: Volunteer
