Be rewarded for learning with the TXOC Academy.

I’m excited to let you know that, for a limited time, Texas OnCourse (TXOC) will reward in-school Texas counselors and advisers who progress through the Texas OnCourse Academy. The TXOC Academy is a new online training platform helping you advise any student for any postsecondary opportunity.

If you haven’t registered yet, I urge you to do so today – and let Texas OnCourse know I sent you! Include my name, Nicole Morales, on the registration page, where it asks, “Where did you hear about us?”

You can earn up to $450 total:
  • Counselors and advisers who earn 5 Competency Badges will be awarded $200.
  • Counselors and advisers who earn all 13 Competency Badges in the Academy will receive an additional $250.

This opportunity is available for the first 4,000 counselors and advisers, through October 2018 only. It’s limited to counselors and advisers directly supporting students and employed in the state of Texas.

Leader Fellowship Available

Texas OnCourse invites school counselors and advisers to apply for a two-year Leader Fellowship. Texas OnCourse Leader Fellows encourage collaboration on and improve postsecondary planning in their region and the state.

Leader Fellows receive benefits including professional learning on professional development on Texas OnCourse resources, college and career advising, communications and outreach, data and evaluation, and other topics. Fellows also receive a $10,000 stipend.

Applicants must directly advise students and have three or more years of experience of doing so. They must also be able to commit approximately 50 hours a semester to the Fellowship.
