Dr. Markisha Smith will be the keynote speaker at the 2017 OSCA Conference on Friday, October 13, at NW Events and Environments in Hillsboro, Oregon.
 
Dr. Smith is director of the Education Equity Unit at the Oregon Department of Education. Her work is specifically focused on implementing best practices in culturally responsive pedagogy and closing opportunity/access/belief gaps for students of color, English learners and students experiencing poverty across the state.
