Career Conversations for Large and Small Groups
Learn how to use the Career Conversations, aligned with the ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors, to work with students in both large- and small-group formats to promote students’ career and college readiness. Hear how to use the Career Conversations for the purposes of assessment, prevention and intervention, and explore examples of group activities, lesson plans and discussion questions to promote practical application.

Learning outcomes:
As a result of attending this webinar, participants will be able to
  1. Identify the foundational underpinnings of the ASCA Career Conversations
  2. Demonstrate the use of ASCA Career Conversations with large and small groups using case studies
  3. Develop a plan for using the Career Conversations with a small or large group
Speakers: 
Jennifer Curry, Ph. D., is a professor of counselor education at Louisiana State University where she specializes in career and college readiness. She has served as an elementary, middle and high school counselor. Additionally, she has served as guest editor of Professional School Counseling journal, a journal reviewer, a delegate of ASCA’s Delegate Assembly, president of the Louisiana School Counselor Association and is currently a Professional School Counseling associate editor.

Megyn Shea, Ph. D. is an assistant professor of school counseling at the NYIT Manhattan and Long Island campuses. Her research interests include career development and college readiness. Prior to becoming a school counselor educator, she worked as an elementary and middle school counselor in Washington.
