ASCA National Model: Themes and Foundation

Learn to establish the focus of your comprehensive school counseling program based on students’ academic, career and social/emotional needs. Hear how student competencies, professional competencies and ethical standards should be at the foundation of your school counseling program.

Learning outcomes:
Upon completion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
  1. Discuss the three sections of the ASCA National Model’s foundation component: program focus, student competencies and professional competencies
  2. Describe how to design a strong foundation through advocacy and collaboration with staff, parents/guardians and the community to determine what every student will receive as a benefit of the school counseling program
  3. Identify at least one need and demonstrate through program goals and competencies how to meet the need
