This online ASCA@Home event is designed to help K–12 school counselors explore the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in education and student support. The two-day program will feature expert-led sessions, hands-on demonstrations and collaborative discussions on practical AI tools, ethical considerations and innovative strategies school counselors can use to better serve students in an evolving digital world. ASCA@Home: Ethics and Law in Everyday Practices offers 32 hours of in-depth, online programming to equip school counselors with tools to navigate the often-complex ethical and legal challenges in school counseling practice. School counselors are motivated by the desire to help youth of all ages successfully navigate the often-confusing landscape of childhood and adolescence. However, everyday situations can become complicated. That’s why a strong ethical foundation to guide your responses to students, families and staff is essential. Using the ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors, ASCA Professional Standards & Competencies and ASCA position statements as a guide, ASCA@Home 2024 helps you enhance your understanding of ethics and clarify your role in addressing the various complex topics you encounter while supporting students every day. Attendees who view all the sessions can earn up to 3.2 CEUs/32 Contact Hours. Graduate credit is also available for two credits or three credits (additional fee applies).
